Well i guess we can help to save our enviroment by reducing open burning outside our house..or remind our neighbour not to burn their stuff too much..

I would suggest to plant more and more greens perhaps outside our house or anywhere beside the roads..

I just found your blog. This is great that you're doing this.

We try to make less waste. I buy reusable bags, one every time we shop. I take them with me so I use less paper and plastic each time.

I buy food that has minimal packaging. Anything I can use that leaves minimal waste is what we try to consume. This has helped us eat more fruit and veggies since there is nothing left!

Hi!

I always use less paper in jotting down my list by using used papers that had been written or just typed them in my mobile phone! Plus i seldom throw away the plastic bags that i bought from shops and reuse them for my rubbish.

On top of that, i use the outline of the stickers left and reuse them in my page as a border tag. This helps us to use up all our stash wisely.

Don't ever throw away and keep the beautiful bouquet of roses that our loved ones gave and put them nicely in a colorful vase to decorate your living room.

Make use of the tin cans and paste them onto your layout to create a flower or any design that you want or even collect them and send them to the recyle department to redeem some cash :)

I have tried to get more energy saving light bulbs, buy better appliances and keep my heat a couple degrees cooler to save money and energy. Every 3 degrees difference saves a total of 5% per year, now that is a big difference.

We have switch most of the light bulbs in our house. We use reusable bags for shopping. my daughter takes a pack lunch so she reuses the same bag and water bottle daily and is now reusing some of her plastic bags. I go through the mail and reuses the envelopes or paper with blank backs for scratch paper and lists. we bought a new energy efficent washer.we feed alot of scrap food to our goats, horses, and chickens. The kids find nifty ways to recycle alot of the packaging you get with food. We are trying to do our part a little at a time. Thank you for some of the new ideas you all have given me.

I stop in and read Aimee's blog often and enjoy it! Today's especially.

I send my kids' lunch to school almost everyday. We don't brown bag it, we lunch box it! I also send their meals in the ziploc storage container. This way if something is broken, I'm not heart-broken to let it go, but am still able to reuse it when it does come home in good shape (which is much more often than not). This also keeps one more of the styrofoam trays that the schools now use, out of the trash.

My family also rarely uses paper napkins at home. I keep many of the dish rags handy for grabbing for cleaning up a spill or a messy face and hands.

Great green tips everyone! I really like the one about not using paper napkins. One of my friends mentioned this as well.

We help to save the environment by turning off or unplugging things that aren't in use.

oh man..i know i'm late but oh well. here's what i do :

I collected all the notes that i get from school (those one sided ones) and use them to print certain receipts for online bill payments :)

and those papers which are printed on one side but crumpled (and so can't be used for printing) are collected, cut into fours and bound and put next to the phone to take down messages :)

In terms of scrapbook related, for every items i bought, i will usually keep aside their boxes, tins, metals, cans and aaany leftovers of used patterned papers even just a tiny one. Will need that for extra embellishments in my layouts. All plastic bags will be reuseable and shared.

Less electrical usage at home and ensure to switch off if not in use inclusive the lights, water heater, televisions, dvd players etc.

Here I go:-
1. turn off wall sockets that are not in use
2. save up unused paper from books n stuff for scrap paper
3. keep whatever containers that food or items come in to use to store stuff instead of buying more

Hi!
I'm a school teacher and I always encourage my students to recycle paper or any reusable items for their projects! This has worked so far and I'm really proud of them!

Another thing I do is after school finishes, I usually walk around our block to check whether anyone forgot to switch off the electricity in their classrooms. I've been doing this since my own school days so I guess old habits DO die hard!
